Our  Background

Teri Elliott - Lynn O'BrienThe WoMen’s Physical Therapy Institute was co-founded by Licensed Physical Therapist Teri Elliott-Burke and President/COO Lynn O’Brien in Lake Zurich, IL, to specialize in expert and compassionate treatment of a wide variety of pelvic and orthopedic conditions for women and men.  Their extensive 30-year+ professional backgrounds, their dedication to the health and comfort of their patients, and their passion for giving back to their community has distinguished WPTI for the past 15 years and remain its hallmarks today. In 2017, WPTI was acquired by Dr. Maureen Gies Strasser, PT, DPT, OCS, CLT-LANA, who was an associate in the practice and now serves as president and CEO.

By way of background, founder Teri Elliot-Burke, PT, MHS, WCS, PRPC, BCB-PMD, is a Certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) and a Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC).  She holds Masters in Health Science from the University of Indianapolis, a certificate in physical therapy from Northwestern University Medical School and a BA from North Central College. She is an active member of several professional associations for pelvic health.

Lynn O’Brien, President/COO of WPTI, is a passionate advocate for helping patients maximize insurance reimbursements and serving their individual needs with patience and understanding.  Like Terry, Lynn believed in serving her community and was very active as a trustee, board member, instructor, and mentor in both government, civic and non-profit organizations in Lake Zurich, including the area’s largest businesswomen’s networking group, WIN (Women in Networking).
