WoMen's Physical Therapy Institute

for Men, Women & Children

At WoMen’s Physical Therapy Institute (WPTI), we specialize in treating specific pelvic and orthopedic conditions. You will benefit from one-hour private session at every visit, with an experienced, compassionate licensed physical therapist, who is extensively trained in these specialized medical conditions.  We provide a private, relaxing treatment room designed to put you at ease. If your therapist feels that additional medical services beyond physical therapy would be beneficial,  we will coordinate your care and collaborate with referral sources.

Specific Pelvic Conditions Treated for Men and Women

The pelvic conditions we treat are in two major categories: (1) incontinence (involuntary loss of urine, feces or gas) and (2) pelvic pain. Urinary and bowel urgency and frequency are also addressed. Our therapists will determine your condition beginning with a gentle pelvic muscle exam vaginally or rectally to assess the pelvic floor. They will then plan a treatment program based on your specific results.

Lymphedema Treatment for Men and Women

Lymphedema is a collection of fluid that causes swelling (edema) in any part of the body, most often in the arms and legs. There are two main causes:  primary lymphedema (genetic); or more commonly secondary lymphedema, that may develop from lymph node removal from cancer surgery, or radiation therapy.  Lymphedema can also occur post-operatively from any type of orthopedic surgery.  For more information, visit The National Lymphedema Network,
